32-year old lefty swinging 1B Ryan Howard finished 10th in the voting for the 2011 N.L. MVP Award. He played in 152 games for the Phillies last year and he was 141 of 557 (.253 avg, .835 OPS) with 81 runs scored, 33 homers, 116 RBIs and 1 stolen base. Howard has now played in 1,027 games in his first 8 years with the Phillies and he is 1,043 of 3,794 (.275 avg, .928 OPS) with 633 runs scored, 286 homers, 864 RBIs and 12 stolen bases. Howard is likely going to miss a big chunk of the 2012 season and it’s really going to hurt the Phillies’ lineup.

Shane Victorino of the Philadelphia Phillies finished 13th in the N.L. MVP voting

He has now played in 922 games in his first 8 years in the majors and he is 908 for 3,257 (.279 avg, .783 OPS) with 544 runs scored, 79 homers, 354 RBIs and 162 stolen bases.

Hunter Pence of the Phillies finished 16th in the N.L. MVP Voting

28-year old righty swinging RF Hunter Pence finished 16th in the voting for the 2011 N.L. MVP Award. Pence played in 154 games for the Phillies and Astros last year and he was 190 for 606 (.314 avg, .871 OPS) with 84 runs scored, 22 homers, 97 RBIs and 8 stolen bases. He has now played in 734 games in his first five years in the majors and he is 835 of 2,856 (.292 avg, .828 OPS) with 388 runs scored, 114 homers, 412 RBIs and 62 stolen bases. The future is bright for Pence in Philly.

Carlos Ruiz of the Philadelphia Phillies finished tied for 23rd in the N.L. MVP Voting

32-year old righty swinging catcher Carlos Ruiz finished tied for 23rd in the 2011 N.L. MVP voting with Starlin Castro (SS, Cubs), Craig Kimbrel (closer, Braves) and Mike Stanton (RF, Marlins). Ruiz played in 132 games for the Phillies last year and he was 116 of 410 (.283 avg, .754 OPS) with 49 runs scored, 6 homers, 40 RBIs and 1 stolen base. He has now played in 619 games in his first six years with the Phillies and he is 495 of 1,866 (.265 avg, .750 OPS) with 218 runs scored, 36 homers, 231 RBIs and 11 stolen bases.

Roy Halladay of the Philadelphia Phillies finishes 2nd in the voting for the Cy Young Award

34-year old righty starting pitcher Roy Halladay finished 2nd in the voting for the 2011 N.L. Cy Young Award, behind only the deserving Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers. Halladay pitched in 32 games (all starts) for the Phillies last year and he was 19-6 with a 2.35 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP. He has now pitched in 378 games (352 starts) in his first 14 years in the majors and he is 188-92 with 1 save, a 3.23 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP. Halladay is a true ace and he is showing no signs of slowing down, so don’t be surprised if he wins another Cy Young Award or two before he’s done pitching.

UPDATE: (11/23/2011) - Roy Halladay also finished #9 in the voting for the 2011 N.L. MVP Award yesterday.
